David Roberts

David leads the firm’s financial services division and is an executive member of the firm’s management board. As a partner since 1990, David has delivered expertise in a wide range of audit, regulatory and consultancy matters to brokers and other intermediaries, and to insurance carriers.

With syndicate experience covering all the main markets within Lloyd’s, David is lead partner on a number of non-marine and life syndicates. He has undertaken due diligence work and reported on syndicate/agency related capital transactions under the City Code. David has also prepared business models supporting applications for the registration of new syndicates and managing agents, and for the creation of a new insurance company. He is lead partner in relation to the capital modelling services provided by the firm.

David’s litigation experience in insurance-related matters includes being a key member of the accounting/auditing expert team for a "big four" accountancy firm in respect of losses incurred by an LMX company. David has also undertaken complex investigatory assignments in relation particularly to reinsurance arrangements. David was a member of two ICAEW working parties dealing with Lloyd’s accounting issues, corporate capital underwriting and revenue recognition for insurance intermediaries, and is currently a member of the insurance intermediaries working party.

Recently David led a team that assisted a major fund manager in a forensic accounting exercise carried out in relation to the FSA’s investigation into split capital investment trusts.
